I'm going to be frank here; our pitch was as grey and dull as the colour of our presentation behind us. The basics were there; what our opening sequence would be about, what it would include, our target audience etc. but it gave no visuals, no excitement.
Yet we knew what we were talking about and the ideas we had were thought out in our head, but apparently we couldn't form them onto a sheet of paper- or in this case a Prezi presentation. So why couldn't this work? I guess it must have been the time frame we were given. This is definitely not an excuse, but i had other commitments that week outside of school, and perhaps I should have assigned the role of making the Prezi presentation to someone else within our group.
That leads onto another possible flaw; my mismanagement. Perhaps I shouldn't have assigned the roles as I did. maybe I should have given different parts to different people, or perhaps I should have proof read everything first and then put it all together. I think that's definitely a main flaw.
After we finished our presentation, we got back feedback sheets that other members of our class had filled in. they mostly all said the same thing; that they liked our ideas and that Caitlin and I spoke and put them across quite clearly, but that our presentation lacked visuals and that sometimes they weren't able to get out the information that was needed, to understand parts, like our target audience and research of that for example.
The lack of visuals was a fault on my behalf; i had made several Prezi presentations and had included visuals on the two before the final one, but had forgotten/ run out of time to put them into the final presentation.
Overall, I think that yes, our presentation wasn't the best and clearly didn't do our ideas any justice, but that we are now, (at least I am) more determined to make our final piece go smoothly and come out looking like something a professional would make.
Lauren.
