Today we filmed at St.Mary's church on Harrow on the Hill. The walk up there was awful; it was cold, the equipment was heavy and our hands were frozen. But when we got to the top of the hill, looking down at how far we walked there was a great sense of accomplishment over something so small. Perhaps that's a metaphor for us and making the film. Perhaps I'm over thinking this. It's probably the film.
When we got to the graveyard, we immediately took out the camera and started finding shots to shoot. There were loads of very interesting graveyards to include, and the low trees and winding, half dead plants gave a really sinister feeling to the place. It was a brilliant location found by Caitlin and I.
We took a whole load of shots in the graveyard; still, establishing shots, moving shots with Evan as one of our demons, and shots that showed the decaying graves with gothic features. There were so many great angles to take really creepy, sinister looking shots from, and because our opening is in the montage style, we had the opportunity to take loads of them. I'm really glad that Caitlin and I are in a group together, because, as we were filming, we were both shouting out the same ideas and possible angles to shoot from. It's great to be working with someone of the same mindset. Added bonus; we both have the same ideas about what to include when we're editing afterwards!
